<< Background >>Vocational education and training (VET) are crucial for helping both young people and adults gain the skills necessary for good jobs, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic, which also revealed gaps and weaknesses in online learning. To meet this goal, there is a need for VET to become more modern, appealing, flexible, and adapted to the digital and environmental changes. VETCAMP developed an advanced digital education system to utilize VET resources effectively, offering quality online vocational learning experiences accessible to people across the EU. It addresses issues such as digital capacity planning, resource sharing, digital teaching, accessibility, and use of innovative tools. It also focuses on providing solutions for challenges faced by VET teachers, like limited access to technology and digital skills.In terms of new skills, it's essential to have the right skills for jobs to transition to environmentally sustainable economies. VET can play a significant role in this by offering high-quality training programs aligned with the needs of the green economy. VETCAMP suggests achieving this through resource pooling and the use of Open Educational Resources and Pedagogies.<< Objectives >>The primary goal of implementing the VETCAMP project was to address the evolving needs of VET in the wake of the COVID-19 crisis and to contribute to the digital and green transition. The overarching objective was to create a modern, attractive, and flexible digital education ecosystem that enhances VET resources, making high-quality online vocational learning experiences accessible to learners across the European Union.The VET sector faced substantial challenges during the pandemic, revealing gaps and weaknesses in areas such as access to technology, digital skills of educators, and the creation of digital teaching content. The VETCAMP project aimed to embrace the digital transition by providing long-sought solutions to issues such as digital capacity planning, resource pooling, innovative pedagogies, accessibility, and the use of immersive technologies.Additionally, the project recognized the importance of aligning VET with the emerging skill needs for environmentally sustainable and socially inclusive economies.
