<< Background >>This Erasmus+ KA210 project was born from a shared concern among the partner organizations about pressing global and local challenges surrounding food security, sustainability, and social inclusion. The project addresses a crucial need: to raise awareness and develop practical solutions around the accessibility and sustainability of food, particularly regional and locally produced food, which can play a key role in combating food insecurity and environmental degradation. By bringing together schools and NGOs from France (Martinique), Turkey, and Romania, we aim to tackle these interrelated challenges through education, intercultural cooperation, and the empowerment of young people.Across all three organizations, the following needs have been clearly identified and addressed by the project:Educational Need for Sustainability Literacy /Lack of Practical Engagement Opportunities / Need for Intercultural Competence and European Identity /Combating Social Exclusion / Promotion of Regional Products and Cultural Heritage / Creation of a Transnational Network for Long-Term Impact. In summary, we applied for this project because our respective organizations all identified an urgent need to educate and empower youth around the project.<< Objectives >>We wanted to ensure that students develop a deeper understanding of the concept of food security and the role that regional and local food systems can play in ensuring food availability, sustainability, and affordability. This includes:Highlighting the environmental and economic benefits of consuming regional products.Helping students identify the challenges of global food systems and over-reliance on imported goods.Encouraging critical reflection on their own food consumption habits. The project aimed to provide students with practical, transferable knowledge and skills related to:Sustainable food production (e.g., gardening, permaculture, zero-waste cooking).Ecological consumption and responsible consumer behavior.Marketing regional products using digital tools and entrepreneurship approaches.By equipping students with these skills, we also wanted to promote employability and lifelong learning. we also wanted to foster intercultural dialogue and Mutual understanding, promote inclusion by engaging learners from diverse backgrounds, develop and disseminate a practical Marketing Plan for regional products and contribute to the Erasmus+ Priorities.<< Implementation >>1.
