No Digital Divide: digital tools for digital inclusion

"<< Background >>We applied for the ""No Digital Divide"" project to address the growing need for digital inclusion among adults aged 50+, especially those with fewer opportunities. The COVID-19 pandemic exposed the digital gap affecting this group, who often lack the skills, confidence, and access to benefit from online services, job platforms, and digital communication. Both Euroopas and Building Bridges identified a strong demand for accessible digital education tailored to this audience. Additionally, adult educators needed support and tools to effectively teach digital skills. The project also responded to the need for non-formal adult learning to gain recognition and support. By developing MOOCs, training sessions, and a best practices guide, we aimed to empower adults, enhance employability, and promote social inclusion while fostering international cooperation and innovation in adult education.<< Objectives >>The main objective of the No Digital Divide project was to reduce digital exclusion among adults aged 50+. We aimed to improve their confidence and competence in using digital tools for daily life, communication, access to services, and employability. A core goal was also to support adult educators with innovative, easy-to-use digital teaching resources. More specifically we wanted to:- Help adults navigate digital tools for everyday life and bureaucracy;- Support at least 200 adults in developing digital skills for career improvement;- Train adult educators in innovative digital methodologies;- Encourage positive attitudes towards digitalisation and reduce fear or resistance;- Promote inclusion and equal access to digital resources;- Inspire at least 20 adults to pursue entrepreneurship and creative projects;- Create a practical, accessible digital learning platform including 5 MOOCs and 20 videos;- Produce a digital best practices manual for educators;- Involve stakeholders, institutions, and policy-makers to improve impact and sustainability.<< Implementation >>To implement the No Digital Divide project, we carried out a series of strategic and inclusive activities across Estonia and Spain:-Project Management: Coordinated by Euroopas, with support from Building Bridges, ensuring smooth collaboration, regular monitoring, and reporting.-Creation of Digital Learning Tools: We developed 5 short, accessible MOOCs (e.g., internet basics, using smartphones, digital safety, social media) and a video repository. These resources were tailored for adults aged 50+ with limited digital experience. Content is available in English, Estonian, and Spanish.-Webinars: Two live webinars were held—one in Estonia (09/12/2024) and one in Spain (18/12/2024)—covering key digital safety topics like passwords, device security, updates, scams.-Local Workshops: 5 onsite training sessions were organized in Spain (Madrid) to promote the MOOCs and support digital learning. 112 adult learners participated in Spain.-Transnational Final Meeting: A closing event in Estonia brought together project teams and participants to evaluate results, share feedback, and plan future cooperation. 28 participants attended the meeting, hosted in Taltech University.-Communication strategy and dissemination activities.<< Results >>1.
