Many adults lacked the ability to verify information sources, making them vulnerable to manipulation.By applying for this project, the partners aimed to empower individuals with the necessary skills to critically assess news, enhance their digital resilience, and make informed decisions. The project also sought to support organizations working in adult education by developing innovative non-formal training programs and digital tools. Strengthening cooperation among organizations in Germany, Croatia, and Portugal was a key objective, ensuring the exchange of best practices and the creation of sustainable learning opportunities. The project contributed to the European goal of improving digital literacy and combating misinformation.<< Objectives >>The project aimed to enhance critical thinking and media literacy skills among unemployed citizens and small business owners, helping them make informed business decisions in the face of widespread fake news. Strengthening International Collaboration – Establish a network of organizations in Germany, Croatia, and Portugal to share best practices and enhance cooperation in adult education.2. Creating a Digital Educational Platform – Develop an online tool to provide accessible, high-quality training materials and improve digital skills among adult learners and educators.By empowering educators and individuals with new skills and resources, the project wanted to contributed to a more informed society capable of recognizing and mitigating the impact of fake news.<< Implementation >>The project included key activities to enhance media literacy and critical thinking among unemployed citizens and small business owners. It began with a kick-off meeting in Berlin, where partners set objectives, planned strategies, and established cooperation.A research study in Germany, Portugal, and Croatia analyzed the impact of fake news on business decisions, involving 124 respondents. Each country identified potential beneficiaries, mapping 55 institutions for targeted outreach.Based on the findings, partners developed the ""Coherent Minds"" education program, designed to train adults in detecting and combating fake news. A training session in Croatia tested the program with 17 educators.To expand access, an online education platform was created, featuring a digital handbook, e-learning courses, and interactive quizzes. Transnational meetings in Portugal and Croatia ensured collaboration, while an online multiplier event with 36 participants shared best practices.Local multiplier events reached 27 participants in Croatia, 25 in Germany, and 10 in Portugal, expanding awareness and engagement. The project successfully built a network of adult education organizations, fostering long-term cooperation in adult education.<< Results >>The project achieved significant results in enhancing media literacy and critical thinking among unemployed citizens and small business owners.A research study with 124 respondents across Germany, Portugal, and Croatia led to three national reports on how misinformation affects business decisions.
